FILLERS

Over the years, our skin changes in tone and texture. The natural foundation of our tissue loses its elasticity, causing fine lines and wrinkles to slowly appear. With the loss of collagen and elastin, tissues will no longer bounce back, but instead becoming lax and lifeless. Along with these changes may come dark, ‘hollow’ areas beneath the eyes and along the cheekbones. Coupled with the effects of sun damage, smoking, stress, pollutants, and genetics, these early signs of aging are impossible to avoid.
While there is no substitute for a healthy diet and good skincare routine, there is a simple, nonsurgical alternative to temporarily improve the appearance of age-related wrinkles and volume loss: dermal fillers. These injectable formulations are made from naturally occurring, biodegradable substances like Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and Calcium Hydroxyapatite (CaHA). The benefits of fillers can be seen immediately, and depending on the treatment area, can last from six months to two years.

Volume loss in cheeks, jawline, and under eyes
Smoker’s Lines (fine lip lines)
Thinning lips
Scars from acne or trauma
Today, there are many soft tissue fillers, approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), available from experienced aesthetic providers. These injectable are considered safe and effective for treating static wrinkles, or facial lines caused by a loss of tissue elasticity, as well as scarring from acne or injury. Varying size molecules and consistency make some fillers better at replacing volume along the cheeks, jawline, and the lips.
Soft tissue fillers made from Hyaluronic Acid are among the most popular. As HA is a natural building block of healthy skin, these fillers provide structure and shape to targeted tissues. The HA pulls water from surrounding tissues to plump wrinkles and facial crevices.
At Lotus Luxe Med Spa, we use Juvederm, Restylane, and Revanesse filler.
If you are struggling with the early signs of aging, such as fine lines, deep creases, ‘hollows’ under the eyes and across the cheekbones, or diminishing lips, a dermal filler may be the perfect treatment. Taking less than an hour in the office, and requiring no downtime, fillers are a convenient ‘lunchtime lift’. Best of all, the results are temporary, but can easily be maintained with a repeat treatment once the benefits start to fade.
